Dec 12,2025Noise and Vibration Problems of High-Power Compressor Condensing Units
1. Structural Noise Transmission
The operation of a high-power condensing unit generates strong mechanical vibrations between the compressor mounting feet and the base plate, which radiates high-frequency noise (approximately 800Hz) through the base plate, becoming the main source of noise.
When the air noise from the fan and compressor itself is reduced, structural noise often becomes dominant, requiring specialized vibration isolation design for suppression.
2. Resonant Frequency Conflict
If the natural frequencies of the compressor feet, vibration isolation elastomer, and base plate are similar, it will lead to resonance amplification, causing noise peaks exceeding 10dB in specific frequency bands (e.g., 800Hz).
By increasing the stiffness of the compressor feet, reducing their mass, or adjusting the damping of the vibration isolation elastomer, the resonant frequency can be effectively shifted out of the critical noise band, reducing structural noise.
3. High-Frequency Vibration Control Measures
Multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) vibration models are used for simulation to accurately identify the modal characteristics of each component, guiding the optimized design of vibration isolators, compressor feet, and base plates.
In actual products, improvements to the compressor foot structure (increasing stiffness and reducing end mass) have achieved a noise reduction of approximately 10 dB, shifting the overall noise level from compressor-dominated to fan-dominated.
4. Noise Control Advantages of Taizhou Best Refrigeration
In the development of the LKPG series high-power condensing units, the company has introduced advanced vibration isolation technology and structural optimization solutions to ensure that international standards for low noise and low vibration are met across a power range of 1/4–100 HP.
